RAMALLAH, Sunday, September 13, 2020 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused today on the Ministry of Health’s daily report yesterday which said that six deaths from coronavirus and 650 new infections were registered in the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
The dailies also highlighted the international and regional reactions against the tripartite American-Bahraini-Israeli declaration on normalizing the relations between Bahrain and apartheid Israel.
Al-Ayyam said in its main news story that as Bahrain and Israel agreed to accelerate the normalization process and exchange embassies of the two countries, hundreds of Bahraini activists tweeted on the social media using the Arabic hashtag #التطبيع_خيانة, meaning “Normalization is betrayal”.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the central committee of Fatah Movement stated that free normalization with the occupying state of Israel by some Arab countries means an abandonment of Jerusalem and its Muslim and Christian holy sites, and encourages the Israeli occupation for more theft of land and more settlement construction.
Al-Ayyam said Azzam al-Ahmad, member of the Central Committee of Fatah Movement, said a supreme national leadership of the nonviolent resistance is expected to be declared in a few hours.
Al-Ayyam said Saeb Erekat, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said the agreements between Israel and some Arab countries are not normalization or a peace treaty, but rather an idea planted by the United States that an alliance with Israel is a must to confront the dangers facing the region.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said that Bahrain’s declaration on normalizing its relations with the occupying state of Israel prioritizes the short-term interests over the strategic issues, and comes at the expense of the aspirations of the Arab and Islamic nations and Palestinian rights.
Al-Quds said hardcore Israeli settlers opened gunfire last night at a Palestinian-owned home in the center of Hebron city, south of the occupied West Bank, but no injuries were reported.
