RAMALLAH, August 5, 2012 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian dailies Sunday highlighted the Palestine Committee of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) meeting in the city of Ramallah.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam reported that President Mahmoud Abbas will give a speech, in which he supports the Palestinian bid to the United Nations.
Al-Quds daily quoted Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki describing the Non-Aligned Movement’s meeting today as historical.
Its front page story featured Israeli plan to expand the military checkpoint built at the entrance of Neve Daniyyel outpost, west of Bethlehem, taking over 300 Dunums of land that belongs to Palestinians.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on Britain’s ambassador to Israel Matthew Gould saying: “Support for Israel is starting to erode and that’s not about these people on the fringe, who are shouting loudly and calling for boycotts and all the rest of it.”
