RAMALLAH, August 14, 2011 (WAFA) – Fatah Central Committee Member, Jamal Mheisen, said Sunday that the movement has resolved the case of its former member, Muhammad Dahlan, with a final dismissal from the movement, According to ‘Al-Makshoof’ program aired on the Palestinian TV.
Mhaisen said that “the decision is now final. It can’t be appealed or canceled.”
Fatah decided Thursday to expel Dahlan from the movement and from its ranks, as well as ended any ties he had with it. Dahlan appealed to the court, rejecting that decision.
Jamal al-Mheisen said, “Dahlan appealed to the movement’s court, and the court rejected the appeal because the decision is prerogative of the central committee and not the movement’s court.”
He added “the appeal presented by Dahalan did not complete the legal conditions, since it surpassed the time limit granted, which is 14 days after the appeal. In addition, he did not address the movement’s president or the central committee but addressed the movement’s secretary, so the appeal was not acceptable.”
Concerning the accusations against Dahalan, Mheisen said “we have witnesses stating that most of the killing operations carried out in Gaza were done by the security services lead by Dahlan, and we have a number of cases filed by the families of the murdered.”
Mheisen clarified that Dahlan’s case is now in the hands of judiciary. He said, “The central committee terminated all that concerns him inside the movement by expelling him and now Dahlan’s accusation file is being referred to the attorney general or to a specialized judicial body for consideration. Whoever is accused will be called to appear in front of the Palestinian law through the Interpol.”
He denied that the issue of smuggling weapons into Libya is mentioned in Dahlan’s accusation file, but all the other issues concerning assassination, illicit enrichment, incitement and establishing clusters are included.
