BERLIN, May 19, 2010 (WAFA)- Prime Minister Dr. Salam Fayyad met, today, with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in the German capital Berlin. During the meeting was an agreement on a framework to follow what was discussed at the joint ministerial meeting yesterday.
Fayyad expressed his deep appreciation to the German government to launch the initiative to establish the Palestinian-German Steering Committee. He said 'that we cherish this initiative'.
The Prime Minister expressed hope in the deepening of German-Palestinian relations, and pointed out that the launch of this initiative is clear support for the Palestinian people's quest and its National Authority for the implementation of building the institutions of the State of Palestine and its infrastructure.
The Prime Minister added that this initiative is of particular importance, because Germany plays a significant role politically, in the European and international arenas, and noted that the initiative gives momentum to contribute to the transformation of the PNA’s plan from an idea into reality.
