RAMALLAH, April 28, 2010 (WAFA) -Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS ) said, Industrial Production Index Indicate an increase in the West Bank in March 2010 compared with the previous month.

PCBS reported, the overall Industrial Production Index (IPI) reached 113.26 in March 2010, compared to 112.40 in February 2010. 

The results indicated that there was an increase by 0.76% in the industrial production index in March 2010 compared to February 2010.

Analysis of Industrial Production Index developments for March 2010 indicated an increase in the following major groups compared to February 2010: Manufacture of rubber and plastic by 11.56%; Manufacture of tobacco products by8.33%; Mining and quarrying by 4.40%; Manufacture of coke, refined petroleum products 3.91%; Manufacture of food and beverages by 3.33%; Manufacture of wood and its products by2.76%; Water Supply by   2.50%                                

Analysis of Industrial Production Index developments for March 2010 indicated a decrease in the following major groups compared to February 2010: Recycling by-4.87%; -; Manufacture of electrical machinery-3.53%; Electricity by-3.39%; Manufacture of paper and its products by-2.86%.
