JERUSALEM, April 25, 2010 (WAFA)- Member of Fateh’s Revolutionary Council, Dimitri Dilliani, said, today that the Palestinian non-violent resistance has defeated the Israeli occupation, today, subsequently to the extremist settlers retreat in East Jerusalem after violent clashes between Silwan residents and the Israeli police.
Dilliani stated that: “The occupation’s defeat was attained when we were able to stand in the face of the settlers’ march, while maintain non-violent resistance, which cost the occupation its opportunity to enter the security element to the political scene; this element being the extreme right government’s chance to evade international pressures practiced against it due to its continued violations of Palestinian national rights, especially in occupied east Jerusalem.”
He explained that the children of Fatah movement and the national factions, the people of Silwan, international solidarity activists and leftist Israelis were able to stop the progress of settlers provocative march despite the presence of more than 2000 armed soldiers backed by helicopters, surveillance cameras, and water pressure hoses.
