JERUSALEM, April 25, 2010 (WAFA)- Extremist settlers retreated to the outskirts of the neighborhood of Wadi Helwa in East Jerusalem after the violent clashes that took place this morning between the residents of Silwan town and the Israeli police close to the protest tent in Silwan neighborhood.
Confrontations led to the injury of eight young Palestinians, including a medic who was wounded while he was trying to transport the injuries to the hospital .
The clashes started after the march launched by the provocative extremist settler groups in an attempt to enter the town.
Israeli occupation forces have arrested the Member of Fateh Revolutionary Council , Hatem Abdul Kader' and seven other citizens.
The member of the Revolutionary Council of Fateh Dimitri Diliani said that the Israeli police arrested Abdul Kader on charges of 'Planning for a criminal act.'
Settlers could not enter the neighborhood as was scheduled, prompting the troops to the occupation and the Israeli police to protect the extremist settlers by shooting toward the Jerusalemites.
