Shaath: Latest Israeli Order Contradicts Bilateral Agreements

RAMALLAH, April 13, 2010 (WAFA)- Member of Fateh’s Central Committee and International Relations Delegate, Dr. Nabil Shaath, said, yesterday, that the latest Israeli military order to expel Palestinian citizens is a political order that contradicts agreements signed between the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and Israel. He described it as an Israeli attempt to undermine the PNA.

In a meeting held with a number of Arab and International Consuls and Ambassadors, Shaath added that the order is a new Israel Transfer policy to expel Palestinian citizens holding IDs issued in Gaza, Jerusalem, Israeli or any other place.

The order also concerns spouses of West Bank IDs and their children born there, as well as all Israeli solidarity activists and international participants in popular protests against the Occupation or Settlements.

He pointed to the Israeli Policies in Occupied Jerusalem, namely the continuation of settlement building and forcefully oppressing non-violent protests in Nilin and Bilin, in addition to assaulting international solidarity activists, their detention, expulsion and deportation.

Shaath demanded the diplomats to take the seriousness of this military order into consideration and take action quickly, because it threatens the possibility to get back on track with the peace process.
