RAMALLAH, March31, 2010(WAFA)- Researchers and academics participating in a workshop that the political situation faces an impasse that can be surpassed by a new government instead of the current right-wing coalition.
Speakers were discussing report prepared by Palestinian Forum for Israeli Studies 'Madar' that reflects the scene by the Israeli foreign relations, political, security, economic, social, and Palestinians in Israel issues.
The Secretary of the PLO Executive Committee, Yasser Abed Rabbo said, the international consensus on two-state solution, would lead in solving the borders issue of a Palestinian state, because “solving the issue of our borders would automatically solve the final status issues like:Settlements in the West mainly in East Jerusalem, Refugees, Waters, etc..
He described the conflict between US-Israeli interests as “good sign” hoping that it would lead to final settlement in the Middle East.
Researcher on the foreign Israeli relations Dr. Ayman Youssef said that, the Israeli agenda of Foreign Affairs in 2009 focused on the Iranian nuclear threat, Goldstone report.
He pointed out that after the tension that has plagued its relationship with Turkey, Israel went directly to Central Asia, and Latin America. Finally the deadlock was the basis of Palestinian-Israeli relationship during the year 2009.
Researcher Antoine Shalhat described the Israeli political scene according to Benjamin Netanyahu speech in Bar-Ilan university, by acknowledging for the first time two-state solution.
