RAMALLAH, March 29, 2010 (WAFA)- Al-Haq highlighted Israel’s violations of religious freedom and freedom of movement with Israel’s siege of East Jerusalem in press release.
It condemned the Israel’s inclusion of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron and Bilal Mosque in Bethlehem in a list of Israeli heritage sites. Additionally, to the Israel’s attacks on human rights defenders during its address to the Human Rights Council.
As part of its long-term struggle to achieve justice and hold perpetrators accountable for crimes of international humanitarian and human rights law committed in particular during ‘Operation Cast Lead’, Al-Haq attended the Human Rights Council’s 13th Session in Geneva.
Furthermore, Al-Haq co-signed a joint written submission with International Service for Human Rights, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies and Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network, in which the organizations raised their concerns regarding the protection afforded to human rights defenders under the Council’s agenda Item 8.
