RAMALLAH, October 17, 2009 (WAFA)- UNICEF Ambassador Mia Farrow said, today, that all children must live in peace, and should never live in disastrous environments.
In a visit she paid to Dar Al-Amal Juvenile Rehabilitation center, she said that she has witnessed the tragic circumstances under which live Palestinian children in the West Bank and Gaza. She told the Palestinian Minister of Social Affairs, Majida Al-Masri, that she will remain “by your side, and convey your message,” adding that she will be back to the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
Minister Al-Masri, on her side, thanked Farrow for her visit and called her a “good friend for Palestine,” saying that the UNICEF is a main partner to the ministry. She said that the number of delinquent children in Palestine is rising due to the tragic circumstances they are living, as in witnessing their homes being demolished, their family members being arrested or beaten up by the Israeli Occupation Forces.
Finally, The Minister emphasized the role of the UNICEF in long term cooperation especially in the field of intervention and protection.
