IOF Arrests 14 Palestinians in West Bank

RAMALLAH, November 19, 2008 (WAFA)- Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested, Wednesday, fourteen Palestinian citizens in the West Bank, and Jewish colonizers attacked Palestinian families in Hebron.

 

Palestinian sources reported that a large number of Israeli military vehicles attacked Balata Refugee Camp near Nablus. They arrested four Palestinians after vandalizing several houses in the Camp, and physically assaulting a Palestinian citizen, causing him moderate injuries.

 

According to Palestinian security sources, Israeli troops arrested two young Palestinians in a military operation in Ramallah downtown, south of the West Bank.

 

In addition, IOF attacked a number of houses and arrested four Palestinian young men from Al-Zawya village, near Salfit.

 

Four more Palestinians were arrested in the West Bank but their identities were not revealed so far. Reasons for the arrests and destinations where prisoners were taken are still unknown.

 

In the meantime, IOF force-entered, Wednesday, the town of Tqoua’ southeast of Bethlehem, amid heavy fire shooting and sound bombs. They imposed curfew on the town, to carry out vast searching operations, in which they vandalized ten of houses and held over forty citizens captive in the town center. In addition, Israeli soldiers forcefully entered the Town Hall and turned many house-roofs into surveillance points.

 

Jewish colonizers continue on with their aggressions against Palestinian citizens in Hebron; they attacked many houses and citizens property, in three neighborhoods in the City. Jewish Colonizers assembled in the illegal outposts to be demolished following the Israeli Higher Court decision to evacuate them, in order to prevent Israeli soldiers from forcing them out.
