PCBS: 95,709 Guests to Palestinian Territory in third quarter 2008

RAMALLAH, November 17, 2008 (WAFA)- The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said that the total number of guests coming to the Palestinian Territory reached 95,709 persons during the third quarter of 2008.  

 

On the Occasion of the Palestinian and Arab Tourism day November 15, 2008, PCBS said in a press release published, Monday, that the total number of guests to the Palestinian Territory reached 95,709 persons, 14% of whom were Palestinians, 43% were from the European Union countries.
 
Most of those guests (46%) stayed in Jerusalem hotels, 18% stayed in hotels in the center of the West Bank, 33% in hotels in the south of the West Bank, and 2% in hotels in the north of the West Bank hotels, while the percentage of guests in Gaza Strip hotels was 1%. According to the press release, the guests stayed 238,437 nights in the Palestinian Territory.
 

PCBS stated that the results also indicated that the average inbound personal daily expenditure was $113.0. The total number of operating tourism establishments was 1,257,  991 of which are in the West Bank and 266 in Gaza Strip.
