Palestine Chosen Deputy Secretary General of Euro Mediterranean Union

 

 

RAMALLAH, November 6, 2008 (WAFA)- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Riad Al-Malki said, Thursday that Palestine has got the post of Deputy Secretary General in The Euro Mediterranean Union, hosted in Barcelona city in 2009.

 

Al-Malki added, in a press conference held at the Ministry of Information  that the Palestinian National Authority will supervise a number of projects and that it demands the Euro Mediterranean Union to guarantee that it will benefit from the projects agreed upon, despite Israeli policies aimed at putting obstacles in the way of Palestinian progress.

 

Al-Malki condemned the demolition operations the Israeli Authorities are carrying out in Jerusalem, and denounced in the firmest words the Israeli consecutive attacks on Gaza.

 

He hoped that the new American Administration will accelerate the pace of negotiations, and will help establish an independent viable Palestinian state.
