British PM to Meet President Abbas in Bethlehem

TEL AVIV, July 19, 2008, (WAFA)-British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is set to arrive in Tel-Aviv Saturday evening for a two-day visit to Israel and the Palestinian Territories, the British Embassy in Israel reported on Saturday.

Accompanying Brown will be a business delegation headed by Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Lord Digby Jones.

Brown has scheduled a meeting in the West Bank with President Mahmoud Abbas and will hold a press conference in Bethlehem.

He has also planned to meet with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, and with leaders of the Palestinian East Jerusalem community.
 

Brown is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, as well as President Shimon Peres, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak.
