HEBRON, April 16, 2007, (WAFA)-International Solidarity Movement (ISM) called on Monday for a march as a solidarity event to commemorate the Palestinian Prisoner's Day.
ISM revealed in a press release that "with the efforts of Islamic and national offices, the national demonstration for Prisoner's Day will take place in Hebron. There are over 10,000 Palestinian prisoners behind Israeli bars, with 2,900 of them from Hebron."
According to ISM the demonstrators will meet at 11am at the Jerusalem Open University on Ein Sara Street, and "all parties will come together in solidarity to demand the release of our brothers and sisters in Israeli prisons."
Following the march which will end at the Idn Russed School on Ein Sara Street, a rally will be held where family members and community representatives will discuss the conditions of Palestinian political prisoners, including stories of torture, death, and suffering within Israeli jails.
