JERUSALEM, April 12, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Sunday evening forced two Palestinian citizens to carry out the self-demolition of their home in the town of Jabal al-Mukaber, southeast of occupied Jerusalem.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, the residents Ali Sawahreh and his son, Mohammed, were compelled to demolish their own home to avoid the heavy fines and demolition costs imposed by the Israeli authorities.
The occupation authorities force residents, particularly in occupied Jerusalem, to carry out the self-demolition of their homes under the pretext of lacking building permits. Those who refuse are subjected to demolition by occupation bulldozers and are also required to pay substantial costs for the demolition process.
