Jordanian FM: No Peace and Stability Unless Reaching Comprehensive and Just Solution in Region
AMMAN, April 16, 2007, (WAFA)-Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdul Ilah Khatib affirmed that the Palestinian cause is the core of the conflict in the region and peace and stability can not be achieved unless reaching a comprehensive and just solution.
Jordanian News Agency PETRA reported that during a round of talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni in the Dead Sea resort, Khatib discussed with Livni ways to resum negotiations between the Palestinian -Israeli sides, specially after meeting held between President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Khatib stressed the necessity to push the peace process forward, as negotiating is the only means that provides a just solution and guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people and establishment of an independent state on his national soil.
