Egyptian FM: Rice Meeting with Arab Quartet will Focus on Palestinian Cause
CAIRO, March 24, 2007 (WAFA) - The upcoming meeting between US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and members of the Arab Quartet later on Saturday will focus on the Palestinian question, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abulgheit said on Saturday.
He told the Middle East News Agency (MENA) in the South Aswan city that nothing is listed on the agenda of the meeting, except for the Palestinian issue. Elaborating, he noted that the discussions will touch on how to support the Palestinian unity government, how to settle the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and establish an independent Palestinian state according to 2002 the Arab peace initiative.
He affirmed that he will underscore the importance for maintaining the Palestinian unity and talking to the international community as one group.
