PCHR Condemns Israeli Aggression against Nablus
RAMALLAH, February 26, 2007 (WAFA) -Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) condemned Israeli military aggression against the West Bank (WB) city of Nablus which so far led to the arrest of 30 citizens.
In a press release issued Monday, PCHR said that for the second consecutive day Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continued their wide scale military violations in the city, revealing that IOF military aggression has paralyzed all aspects of daily life in the city, which has been placed under a curfew.
PCHR expressed concern over the incursions' outcome, especially as IOF declared that their Operation "Hot Winter" in Nablus could continue for several days. PCHR also holds IOF responsible for such escalation, which aims at increasing tension in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).
The Centre called upon the international community to immediately intervene to stop such crimes, and for the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to ensure protection for Palestinian citizens in the OPT.
