BRAZIL, March 26, 2004 (WAFA) - President Yasser Arafat said Friday that the Palestinian people are still committed to a just, durable and comprehensive peace in the region in accordance to international legitimacy resolutions.... In a letter to Palestinian Institutions Conference in Brazil, Arafat stated that the Israeli construction of the annexation and expansion "Apartheid" Wall will not bring security and peace to Israelis, but will lead to more escalation and loose the chance for peace.... Arafat affirmed that the “Apartheid Wall” swallows 58% of the West Bank and destroys many villages and refugee camps as it also alienates Jerusalem from Bethlehem.... Arafat also stressed the necessity of the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and reiterated that it must be under international supervision and through serious Palestinian-Israeli negotiations....
