Global shipping giant Maersk cuts ties with companies linked to Israeli settlements following “Mask Off Maersk” campaign

WASHINGTON, June 26, 2025 (WAFA) - Danish shipping giant Maersk has announced its decision to review and suspend partnerships with companies linked to Israeli colonial settlements in the West Bank, following a comprehensive audit of shipments related to these settlements.

This move comes after a prolonged campaign launched by legal and human rights organizations in the United States under the slogan “Mask Off Maersk.” The campaign highlighted Maersk’s role in transporting equipment used to support Israeli settlements.

Activists described the decision as a first step toward pressuring the company to sever its ties with the Israeli occupation, which relies heavily on military equipment to continue its offensive in Gaza.

Maersk stated it will suspend shipments with companies located in the illegal Israeli settlements listed in the database of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
