RAMALLAH, Tuesday, May 19, 2020 (WAFA) – The extreme weather conditions with temperature 12°C above the annual average are expected to continue today, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds today are northeasterly to easterly, moderate to active and sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 37°C and a low of 27°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 36°C and a low of 26°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 46°C and a low of 31°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 28°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
The extreme conditions with temperature 12°C above the annual average are expected to continue tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday.
However, temperature is expected to drop on Friday to become 6°C above the average, said the PMD, which warned people against long exposure to sunlight during the peak hours between 11 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon and from lighting fire in areas with dry grass.
