AL-BIREH, Monday, January 07, 2019 (WAFA) – Less than 24 hours after leaving it, Israeli soldiers returned on Monday to al-Bireh, Ramallah‘s twin city, and took over rooftops of buildings in the vicinity of the municipality, according to witnesses.
The soldiers, they said, searched buildings for video footage of the streets, particularly from shops and businesses in the area, which is what they did the day before when they raided the Palestinian-controlled city.
Local youths confronted the soldiers with stones, who fired back tear gas and rubber bullets.
The Ministry of Health later reported three youths injured, two hit by live bullets in the lower limbs and the third by a rubber bullet in the neck. All three injuries were said to be light.
The soldiers also kept reporters away from the area and prevented them from covering the raid.
