RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 22, 2019 (WAFA) - Exports decreased in June by 13% compared to May and imports decreased 7% compared during the same period, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
Exports also decreased by 4% compared to June 2018 and reached $78.3 million, while imports increased by 2% compared to June 2018 and reached $450.4 million, said the PCBS.
Exports to Israel decreased in June by 12% compared to May and it represented 91% of total exports in June.
At the same time, exports to other countries decreased by 16% during the same period compared to May and reached $6.8 million.
Imports from Israel decreased by 6% in June, 2019 compared to May and it represented 58% of total imports in June.
At the same time, imports from other countries decreased by 8% compared to May.
The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed a decrease in trade deficit by 5% in June compared to May. While It increased by 4% compared to June 2018 and reached $372.1 million.
