RAMALLAH, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather today is hot to very hot with temperature 3°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate with occasional gusts and sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 22°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 30°C and a low of 21°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 42°C and a low of 28°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

The very hot weather conditions are expected to continue for the next couple of days as a rise in temperature is expected for tomorrow to become 4°C and another rise on Friday to become 5°C.

However, a significant drop in temperature is expected for Saturday to become around the annual average for this time of the year, said the PMD which warned people against long exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the peak hours of the day from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and against setting fire in areas where dry grass has grown.
