Israeli forces detain 19 Palestinians from West Bank, Jerusalem

 

RAMALLAH, Thursday, March 28, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained early this morning 19 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

It said Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians from the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh and six others from the southern West Bank district of Hebron, including one from Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, four, including a former prisoner, Halhoul and Sair towns in addition to Khirbet Qalqas village, north and south of Hebron, and one from Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron.

In the northern West Bank, PPS said that Israeli forces detained two Palestinians from Nablus district.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces conducted a raid in Salfit city, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian, identified as acting director of the Prisoners’ Commission in Salfit and a father-of-four, who has already spent seven years in Israeli jails.

Meanwhile, PPS confirmed that Israeli police rounded up two Palestinians from Jerusalem, including an employee with the Muslim Waqf department for attempting to open the gate for Bab al-Rahma prayer area inside Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The other detainee was identified as a former prisoner.
