RAMALLAH, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained early today 12 Palestinians, including three university students and four teens, from various parts of the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Undercover Israeli forces detained three Palestinian students from the campus of Birzeit University, north of Ramallah.
In the northern West Bank, PPS confirmed that Israeli forces rounded up three Palestinians from Jenin district.
Local sources reported that Israeli military vehicles raided Kafrit village, southwest of Jenin, where soldiers rounded up two Palestinians and seized their motorbike. They were identified as residents of Yaabad town, west of Jenin.
Local sources added that a Palestinian resident of Jenin refugee camp was detained after being stopped at the entrance of Zububa village, northwest of Jenin.
In Jerusalem district, PPS confirmed that five Palestinians, including three teens, were detained from the central West Bank district.
WAFA correspondent elaborated that Israeli military vehicles raided Hizma town, northeast of Jerusalem, where soldiers detained two Palestinian teens.
He also reported a similar military raid in Abu Dis town, east of Jerusalem, resulting in the detention of two Palestinians.
This came as police rounded up a Palestinian from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Tur on the Mount of Olives.
In Hebron district, PPS said that a Palestinian teen was rounded up from the southern West Bank district.
Local attorney Ibrahim Ajlouni told WAFA that Israeli forces raided the Hebron city neighborhood of Jabal Jawhar, where they detained his son.
In Bethlehem district, PPS noted that Israeli forces ransacked the family house of a Palestinian prisoner in al-Shawawra village, east of Bethlehem city.
The prisoner was identified as Odai Salem, who sustained critical injuries after being beaten by Israeli prison guards in the southern Israeli prison of Naqab, also known as Ktzi‘ot Prison.
Salem and another prisoner identified as Islam Yusri Weshahi, also critically injured, were accused of stabbing two Israeli guards in the prison on Sunday.
