In his efforts to form a new government, prime minister-designate continues consultations

RAMALLAH, Sunday, March 24, 2019 (WAFA) – Prime Minister-Designate Mohammad Shtayeh continued today his efforts to form a new government by meeting representatives of various political factions.

Shtayeh met separately with members of the Popular Struggle Front, the Arab Liberation Front, and the Palestine Liberation Front.

The prime minister-designate discussed with the delegates his government program, which includes achieving national unity, preparing for legislative elections and strengthening the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in their homeland.

President Mahmoud Abbas asked Shtayeh to form the new government on March 10, which will be a government led by Abbas’ Fatah movement and composed of members of the Palestine Liberation Organization and others. Shtayeh is a member of Fatah’s Central Committee.

He has three weeks to form a government and can ask for an additional two weeks if necessary.
