Weather: A low and cold front hits the area

 

RAMALLAH, Saturday, March 16, 2019 (WAFA) – A low pressure and cold front is expected to affect the region today causing temperature to plummet and giving rise to considerably cold conditions along with rain and thunderstorms on all districts particularly in the afternoon and evening hours, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is southwesterly to westerly, very active and gusty. Sea waves are high.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 11°C and a low of 8°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 10°C and a low of 7°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 13°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 12°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Sunday’s temperature is expected to rise with partly cloudy and relatively cold conditions and a chance of sporadic rain.

Another rise in temperature is expected for Monday and Tuesday to become four to five degrees Celsius above the annual average for this time of the year.

PMD warns people against floods in low areas and valleys, low visibility due to fog formation and slippery roads.
