RAMALLAH, Thursday, March 14, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather on Thursday is cloudy to partially cloudy and cold to very cold as the region is affected by a low pressure, causing temperature to plummet, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Scattered rain showers, which could be torrential, along with thunderstorms are expected on most districts during the day before getting weaker at night. Wind is southwesterly to westerly, moderate to active with occasional gusts. Sea waves are high.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 11°C and a low of 7°C and in Ramallah, a high of 10°C and a low of 6°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 16°C and a low of 11°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Friday’s temperature is set to rise with partially cloudy and relatively cold conditions in daytime and cold conditions in nighttime. A chance of scattered rain showers is expected on some districts in daytime.
Another low pressure is expected to affect the region on Saturday, causing temperature to plummet and giving rise to considerably cloudy and cold to very cold conditions.
Scattered rain showers, which could be torrential, along with thunderstorms are expected to drop on several districts, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours.
PMD expects Sunday’s weather to be mostly cloudy and cold to very cold. A chance of sporadic rain showers along with thunderstorms is expected on various districts in daytime.
PMD warns people against floods in low areas and valleys, low visibility due to fog formation and slippery roads.
