JERUSALEM, Sunday, February 24, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Sunday ordered Sheikh Raed Da’na, the imam of a mosque in occupied East Jerusalem, to stay away from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the city for six months.
Da’na was arrested by Israeli police last Monday after he led worshipers in a prayer at the entrance to Bab al-Rahma area at the holy Mosque, which was later reopened on Friday following 16 years of closure by Israeli forces.
Last night, Israeli occupation forces detained the Chairman of Awqaf Council in Jerusalem, Sheikh Abdul-Azim Salhab, and the Deputy Director of Awqaf in Jerusalem, Sheikh Najeh Bkerat, from their homes in occupied Jerusalem.
