Israeli police cordon off Jerusalem’s governorate headquarters

JERUSALEM, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli police Wednesday cordoned off the headquarters of the governorate of Jerusalem, in the neighborhood of Dahiet Al Barid, to the north of the occupied city of Jerusalem.

WAFA correspondent said that a large unit of Israeli police and intelligence blocked the main and side roads in Dahiet Al Barid and took over the rooftops  of several  surrounding buildings  before  cordoning off the headquarters. Police prevented employees from entering or leaving the headquarters, and took photos of it before withdrawing from the area.

On Sunday, Israeli special police units detained the governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, and Colonel Jihad Faqeeh, 50, who heads the Jerusalem office in the Palestinian Intelligence force and released them on Monday.
