JERUSALEM, July 4, 2018 (WAFA) – Palestinian and international activists and residents of Khan al-Ahmar Abu al-Helu community, east of Jerusalem, blocked on Wednesday Israeli bulldozers attempting to demolish the Bedouin community, according to WAFA reporter.
She said the residents and activists stopped in the way the bulldozer, which was leveling land near the village to create accessible road to the village, and prevented it from reaching the community.
Soldiers at the scene pushed the protesters away, said the reporter.
Some were injured and few others detained.
The international community has warned Israel against demolishing and displacing the Palestinian community of around 180 people. The demolition is expected to also affect the area’s only school that caters to around 150 students from five nearby Bedouin communities from grade 1 to 9.
