RAMALLAH, October 13, 2025 (WAFA) – A young Palestinian man was shot with live ammunition, while dozens suffered from suffocation on Monday after Israeli forces suppressed a demonstration held by families gathered outside Ofer military prison, located in the town of Beitunia, west of Ramallah, where they were waiting for the release of their relatives under the Gaza ceasefire deal.
WAFA correspondent said that the man was shot in the foot with live ammunition and was transferred to a by nearby hospital for medical treatment. His medical condition remains unknown.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces stormed the town of Beitunia and fired sound bombs and tear gas towards local residents, journalists, and surrounding homes, causing several to suffer suffocation due to inhaling tear gas.
The soldiers also dropped leaflets near Ofer prison warning the family members against holding any celebrations or welcoming gatherings. This coincides with the release of 83 Palestinian detainees serving life sentences from Ofer prison, west of Ramallah, as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
