Occupation forces prevent farmers from harvesting olives east of Qalqilya

QALQILYA, October 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces prevented farmers in the village of Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya, from continuing to harvest olives on their lands on Monday.

Qalqilya Agriculture Director Ahmad Eid told WAFA that Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by colonists from the colony of Qedumim, stormed the northern area of the village, obstructed the olive harvest, and forced farmers and support teams to leave their land.

Eid explained that the agricultural crews and volunteers were in the area as part of the national campaign launched by the Agriculture Directorate last Thursday to support farmers during the olive harvest season.

He noted that the colonists arrived at the site under the protection of Israeli soldiers and threatened to prevent any attempts to complete the harvest and forced them to leave the land.

Eid explained that, despite this, the campaign will continue and include the towns of Jayyous, Azzun, Kafr Qaddum, and Jinsafut.

This campaign comes within the framework of integrated official and civil efforts to alleviate the suffering of farmers, especially in areas adjacent to the Apartheid Wall and settlements, where residents face ongoing difficulties in accessing their lands due to the occupation's attacks.

Eid emphasized that agricultural teams will continue to support farmers on the ground and provide them with the necessary supplies, despite the repeated attacks by the occupation and colonists on land and people.

It is worth noting that settler attacks against farmers and olive pickers have escalated in recent days, with 33 attacks recorded, resulting in the injury of ten citizens, one of which was serious in Hebron.

During the annual olive harvest season, Palestinian lands are subjected to repeated attacks by colonists and the occupation army.

Farmers constantly face attacks and violations that prevent them from accessing their lands, leading to significant material losses and exacerbating their daily suffering under the occupation.

Since October 7, 2023, colonists have carried out a total of 7,154 attacks against citizens and their property, resulting in the deaths of 33 citizens in the West Bank.

Attacks by the occupation and its settlers have also resulted in the uprooting, destruction, and damage of a total of 48,728 trees, including 37,237 olive trees, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
