Dozens suffocate in Israeli raid near Hebron

HEBRON, October 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinians on Monday evening suffocated in an Israeli raid in Beit Kahil, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that Israeli occupation forces barged their way into the town and fired a barrage of tear gas canisters inside a mourning tent, which they mistakenly believed was set up to receive recently released prisoners, causing dozens to suffocate.

He added that among the suffocation cases were children and elderly people who lost their ability to breathe and consciousness, which caused widespread shock among the mourners.

He pointed out that two of the casualties were taken to the hospital due to severe suffocation and injuries, despite receiving first aid treatment from Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance crews.

The others were transferred to a local medical center for treatment.
