Sharm El-Sheikh, October 13, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of their participation in the peace summit in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday.
The two presidents discussed several issues, most notably the ceasefire agreement, the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, the completion of the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and the State of Palestine assuming full responsibilities therein.
They also discussed preventing the annexation of the West Bank, halting colonial activity, and recovering Palestinian funds withheld by Israel to enable the Palestinian government to fulfill its duties towards its citizens.
The President thanked his French counterpart for his country's recognition of the State of Palestine and its co-chairing, along with Saudi Arabia, of the high-level international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue and implement the two-state solution.
