RAMALLAH, February 7, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained a total of 30 Palestinians during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Israeli forces detained two Palestinians after storming their family homes in Bethlehem city.
They detained another Palestinian after storming his family home during a subsequent raid into al-Azzeh refugee camp, north of Bethlehem.
During the raid, troops reportedly interrogated and beat up the detainee’s family, including a woman. They were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Israeli troops conducted several other raids across Bethlehem district in the southern West Bank, detaining eight others.
PPS said another was detained from Biddu town, northwest of Jerusalem.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli troops raided al-Lubban al-Sharqiya village, south of Nablus, detained four Palestinians.
During the raid, troops broke into several homes and distributed leaflets to the owners threatening to punish them if their children allegedly continue to hurl stones at settler’ vehicles.
PPS said that seven Palestinians from Nablus were held for several hours before being released.
Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces a 52-year-old mother of two detainees from Kufr Thuluth, southeast of Qalqilia.
The woman was held in imprisonment after being summoned with her husband overnight by Israeli police in Ariel settlement.
PPS said another Palestinian was detained from Qalqilia city.
In Jenin district, forces detained two Palestinians, including a minor, during separate raids into Yaabad town and Jalbun village, west and east of Jenin city.
PPS said another Palestinian was detained from Shweikeh neighborhood, north of Tulkarem.
In the Jordan Valley, Israeli forces conducted similar raids across Jericho district, detaining six Palestinians.
Three others were detained in a similar overnight raid into Silwad town, northeast of Ramallah.
Meanwhile, Israeli police detained a Palestinian after storming his home during clashes that erupted Tuesday evening in East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.
