Israeli forces detain 18 Palestinians in West Bank raids

JERUSALEM, May 29, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday detained at least 18 Palestinians, mostly in overnight raids across a number of West Bank districts, said security sources.

Israeli police detained 13 Palestinians after storming and ransacking their family homes in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Issawiya.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops detained two 15-year-old Palestinian minors after ransacking their family homes in Tuqu town, east of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank.

In the northern West Bank, troops conducted a similar raid into Azzun town, east of Qalqilya, thoroughly searching several homes and detaining two Palestinians.

Another Palestinian was detained as he passed through King Hussein Bridge between the West Bank and Jordan on his way back from the Umrah pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

The detainee is reportedly a resident of Yaabad town, southwest of Jenin.
