RAMALLAH, March 5, 2016 (WAFA) – The overall quantity of Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine decreased in January 2016 by 3.19% compared to the previous month, said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.

It reported that the decrease was due to a decline in prices of activity of manufacturing industry, which had a share of 83.19% from the total industry, by 3.22%.

Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, which  formed a share of 11.98% of the total industry, decreased by 1.31%. The activity of mining and quarrying manufacturing industry, which had a share of 4.06% of the total industry, also decreased by 9.50% compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, the activity of water supply, sewage, waste management and remediation activities, which had a share of 0.78% of the total industry, increased by 4.43%.
