Israel Detains 10 Palestinians in West Bank, Jerusalem

BETHLEHEM, February 28, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight detained at least 10 Palestinians, including two minor bothers, from across the West Bank, including Jerusalem, according to local and security sources.

In Bethlehem district, Israeli undercover troops ambushed, attacked with gunfire and injured two Palestinians who, along with two others, were inside a vehicle near the village of Deir Salah.

The two were not identified, and were transferred by the Israeli force to a hospital in Jerusalem for medical treatment prior to detention. The two others were also detained.

Meanwhile in Nablus, Israeli forces detained three Palestinians, identified as Saif Debeik, 23, Mustafa Hebeseh, 22, and Zakaria Awadeh, 21.

In Jerusalem, Israeli police broke into al-Issawoya neighborhood, north of the city, and detained two minor brothers, who were identified as Yousef and Laith Darwish. The two were taken to a nearby detention center.

This came shortly after clashes erupted between local youths and Israeli troops in the area, during which many Palestinians suffocated due to inhaling teargas used against them by the Israeli troops.

Israeli police further stormed the town of Ezariya, east of Jerusalem, and detained 21-year-old Saadi Abu Hamed, whom Israel accuses of stabbing and seriously injuring an Israeli guard outside Ma’ale Adumim settlement, nearby, last Friday.
