RAMALLAH, February 21, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities on Sunday detained at least 14 Palestinians from across the West Bank districts, most of them during predawn raids into their family homes, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
In Hebron, Israeli army detained five Palestinians, identified as Mohammad Tareq Tamimi, 29, Osama Abu al-Jadayel, 65, Sharif al-Ja’abeh, 26, Hamza Ghatasha, 22, and Khaldoun al-Mahariq, 27.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces broke into the villages of Husan and Beit Fajjar, near Bethlehem, where they detained Ehab Abu Yabes, 16, Mohammad Thawabteh, 20, and his brother, Nour Thawabteh, 17.
Army also detained Ra’fat al Sa’adi, 18, in Jenin; Ahmad Juma’a, 32, in Tulkarm; and Diaa Sheni, 19, in al-Jalazoun refugee camp near Ramallah.
In the meantime, Israeli soldiers stationed at Za’tara Israeli military checkpoint, south of Nablus, detained a 17-year-old female identified as Sajeda Hassan, from the nearby village of Qusra, as she attempted to cross through.
In Jerusalem, Israeli police detained two Palestinians; 26-year-old Mohammad al-Ja’aba, who is a freed prisoner, in addition to a female identified as ‘Abir al-Masri, outside the Damascus Gate in the city’s Old City area.
PPS said at least 19 Palestinians have been detained by Israeli authorities during the past 48 hours.
