RAMALLAH, January 26, 2016 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Tuesday issue on the Israeli army’s fatal shooting of two Palestinian youths outside the illegal Beit Horon settlement, to the southwest of Ramallah.
They said Israeli troops on Monday evening shot dead Ibrahim Allan, 23 years old from nearby Beit Ur at-Tihta village, and Hussein Abu Gush, 17 years old from Qalandia refugee camp, after they reportedly stabbed and injured two Israeli settlers outside the settlement of Beit Horon, illegally built on the lands of Beit Ur at-Tihta.
They said Monday’s extrajudicial killings bring up the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since early October 2015 to 167.
Meanwhile, the dailies highlighted the snow storm and the low pressure that are affecting Palestine and the region.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on the seriously deteriorating health condition of hunger striking Palestinian detainee in Israeli jails, journalist Mohammad al-Qiq, saying he is facing death at any moment.
Al-Ayyam said the so-called Israeli Civil Administration in the West Bank approved the construction of 153 housing units in several illegal settlements in the West Bank.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said the legal committee in the Israeli Knesset, approved on Monday a decision that allows Israeli police and security forces to “body search” Palestinians on mere suspicion.
