RAMALLAH, January 21, 2016 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Thursday issue on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to appropriate 1,500 dunums of Palestinian land in Jericho and the Jordan Valley for the benefit of the Israeli government.
They quoted Israeli media sources saying Israel is planning to seize the said 1,500 dunums for settlement expansion benefits.
Al-Ayyam and al-Quds said Israeli authorities on Wednesday demolished three Palestinian-owned homes in Hebron and Jerusalem, under the pretext of construction without a permit.
Al-Quds said the Israeli army handed orders to demolish three homes belonging to the families of Palestinians suspected of carrying out attacks on Israeli targets. The homes are located in Salfit district, and in Dora and Yatta towns near Hebron.
Al-Ayyam and al-Quds said Israeli settlers took over a Palestinian-owned building in Silwan, a neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said a group of Palestinian journalists organized a one-day hunger strike in solidarity with hunger striking Palestinian detainee journalist Mohammad al-Qiq.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on a group of British practitioners who demanded that Israel be excluded from the World Medical Association.
Al-Ayyam and al-Quds said Israeli army detained a militant cell in Tulkarm, in northern West Bank, affiliated with Lebanese Hezbollah group.
