Israeli Forces Gun Down Palestinian at Nablus Village Entrance

NABLUS, January 14, 2016 (WAFA) – A Palestinian young man was Thursday killed after Israeli forces opened fire at a military checkpoint erected art the entrance of ‘Asira Ash-Shamaliya town, north of Nablus.

Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that a Palestinian man was shot and killed at an Israeli flying checkpoint set up nearby the Nablus town of ‘Asira Ash-Shamaliya.

The man was identified as Haitham Yassin, 36. 

Israeli military reportedly said Yassin was killed after he allegedly stabbed and injured a soldier when forces exited the vehicle.

Israeli forces opened fire at Yassin resulting in his death on site, while a soldier was allegedly very lightly injured.

Yassin is the second Palestinian to be shot dead by Israeli forces on Thursday.

Several hours before, soldiers shot dead a Palestinian young man following an alleged stabbing attempt at Beit ‘Einun junction, northeast of Hebron in the southern West Bank.

The Health Ministry confirmed a Palestinian man was shot and killed with several bullets fired by Israeli forces at Beit ‘Einun junction.

WAFA correspondent reported the man was shot with over 15 bullets fired by Israeli soldiers who prevented Palestinian Red Crescent medics from reaching the man to provide him with urgent medical care.

The man was identified as Muayyad ‘Awni Jabbarin, 20, by his father who arrived at the scene following his son’s fatal killing.

The Israeli military reportedly said Muayyad was killed after he attempted to stab a soldier stationed at the junction.
