(UPDATE) Israel Detains 16 Palestinians in Jerusalem, West Bank

JERUSALEM, January 12, 2016 (WAFA) – At least 16 Palestinians, including minors,  were detained by Israeli police and army, mostly during predawn and night raids across the West Bank districts and Jerusalem, according to local and security sources.

In Jerusalem area, Israeli police detained four Palestinians, including two minors, after raiding their homes in al-Tur neighborhood district. They were identified as Mohammad Sulaiman Hadra, 14, Emad Abu Ghannam, 16, Mohammad Dawoud Hadra, 19, and Ibrahim Hadra, 19.

Meanwhile in Jenin, in northern West Bank, Israeli troops detained journalist Mujahed Saadi, 28, after raiding and searching his house and sabotaging its furniture. Saadi is a reporter and correspondent for Palestine Today TV.

Army also stormed the nearby village of Kafr Dan and detained three local Palestinians after raiding and searching their homes. They were identified as Wasim Abed, 25, Mohammad Nedal Salah, 32, and Rakez Salah.

In the meantime, Israeli police detained a Palestinian from Jenin refugee camp while he was present inside Israel for work, under the pretext of entering Israel without a permit. He was identified as Mohammad Ali Methqal, 24.

Forces further broke into Nablus city, in northern West Bank, and detained three Palestinians, identified as Samer Bustami, 28, Suhaib Kharraz, 26, and Ahmad Qandil, 17.

In Hebron district, in southern West Bank, army stormed the village of Beit Awwa, where they detained Jibril Sweiti, 24, and Jibril Kawazbeh, 19, after raiding and searching their homes.

Forces also broke into the nearby town of Yatta and handed a notice to three local Palestinians to appear for interrogation.

In Tulkarm district, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian, 26-year-old Tareq Diab.

Army also broke into Aqabat Jaber refugee camp near Jericho, where they detained a local Palestinian, identified as Ayoub Damra.
