RAMALLAH, January 6, 2016
(WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused on Wednesday on Israeli
troops’ fatal shooting of a Palestinian teenager near Hebron on Tuesday evening.
They said 18-year-old Ahmad
Kawazbeh was shot dead by Israeli troops at the Gush Etzion junction, north of
Hebron, after he allegedly stabbed and injured an Israeli soldier.
Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida
reported that the cabinet approved, in its weekly meeting on Tuesday, the
public budget for the fiscal year 2016.
Al-Ayyam quoted remarks by
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said that Israel was gearing up
for the possibility of a collapse of the Palestinian Authority.
It said the Palestine
Liberation Organization (PLO) blamed Israel for the security deterioration in
the occupied territories.
Al-Ayyam said a
Palestinian-owned fishing boat was set ablaze when the Israeli navy targeted it
with gunfire while it was sailing off Gaza on Tuesday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam
said that, in a recent incident, two Palestinians who were onboard a flight
from Athens to Tel Aviv were forced to get off the plane, after Israeli
passengers rejected their presence in the flight.
