JERUSALEM, January 4, 2016 (WAFA) –
Israeli forces Monday opened fire at an unidentified Palestinian under the
pretext of carrying out an alleged stabbing attack near al-Musrara neighborhood in
Jerusalem.
In a statement on Monday, Israeli
police claimed they “neutralized” the youth using gunfire. However, no injuries
were reported.
WAFA’s correspondent said Israeli
forces surrounded and blocked off the shooting scene and prevented access to the
old city of Jerusalem by closing al-Amud and al-Sahera Gates.
In a statement, Israeli police said
the injured is a 17-year-old Palestinian from north of Jerusalem.
His injuries were mainly in the
lower parts of his body. He was transferred to the hospital for medical
treatment and his health condition is described as moderate.
Israeli police claimed they
transferred two Israeli women to receive medical treatment, one with a light
injury and the other with a panic attack.
