Weather Forecast: Cold Front Hits the Region, Snow Expected

RAMALLAH, December 31, 2015 (WAFA) - A cold front will impact the region on Thursday, with a further drop in temperatures. Very chilly weather conditions, heavy rain showers, hail, and occasional thunderstorms, are expected over different areas, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department.

Winds are southwesterly to westerly and active. Sea waves are high.

The region will remain under the affect of the polar front on Friday, remaining cloudy and very cold, as temperatures further significantly drop. Heavy rains, accompanied with hail and occasional thunderstorms, are expected over different areas. Potential snow is expected to fall during the afternoon hours on areas 850 meters above sea level.

The polar front remains over the area on Saturday, remaining very cold and cloudy. Heavy rain showers are also expected to fall. Snowfall is also expected on areas 850 meters above sea level.

A slight rise in temperature is expected on Sunday, yet remaining cold and partially cloudy. Scattered rain showers are expected to fall over some areas, particularly the northern areas.

The Weather Department warned of the possibility of flooding in low areas, slippery roads, strong winds, and low visibility due to expected fog formation on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
